The Detroit Lions are placing their wide receiver weapon on IR due to the foot injury he suffered vs the Colts.

Kalif has been a very good player for Detroit thus far, racking up 204 yards and 2 TDs as the team’s WR3 or 4 this season. However, that is not where he makes his mark. Kalif has been amongst the best punt returners in the NFL this year. He has 390 total punt return yards, ranking first in the entire league. He also has a 90 yard punt return for a touchdown to boot.

It sounds like Raymond has a chance to return in the regular season. Dan Campbell mentioned earlier this week that they were seeking a second opinion, to see if it was season-ending. The fact he is able to return at all is a good sign, let alone it likely being within the regular season.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for Kalif, as we enter the latter stages of the NFL season. The Lions will need every piece they can get as they try for their first Lombardi Trophy.
