Another name has joined the Detroit Lions this offseason. Stanford’s David Shaw looks to replace Tanner Engstrand as the new Passing Game Coordinator. Shaw is most known for being the head coach for Stanford’s football program from 2011-2022, amassing a 96-54 record and two Rose Bowl victories.

After joining the Denver Broncos as a senior personnel executive, Shaw aims to help keep the passing game as dynamic as it was this past season. During his time at Stanford, he worked with notable names such as Niners RB Christian McCaffrey and former Colts QB Andrew Luck.

This is a hire that will help Morton and the offense maintain success against opposing defenses. Campbell did say that QB Jared Goff would have some say in the hiring process. If Coach Shaw can help Goff to keep playing at a high level, this team will go far.
