The NFL’s best are going head to head, and the fantasy playoffs have begun. At this moment, you might be having a dilemma on who to start and who to sit for this match-up. We have you covered.

START:

Barring the obvious ones (Josh Allen, Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St Brown) here are my starts for today:

Jameson Williams, WR: The Bills come into the game down a starting corner and safety on a defense that has not been that great against the pass this season. They rank 12th in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers, with an average of 25.9 points per game. However, they rank 28th in separation allowed, at 3.8 yards. I expect Williams’ speed to take full advantage of that.

Lions Running Backs: Start Montgomery and Gibbs. This Bills defense ranks 19th against the run, 26th in yards per run allowed, 23rd in yards before contact allowed, and they stack the box the least of any team. Not to mention they rank 30th in fantasy points allowed to running backs, with 25.1 PPG allowed. These are all things I fully expect the Lions to take advantage of. The Lions offensive line is also going to have a big game today.

Khalil Shakir, WR: I expect the Lions to have a plan for Amari Cooper, and he likely won’t have a huge game, although he still could. The player I have my eye on is Khalil Shakir. Over the last 4 games, Shakir has seen 36 targets for 23 catches, 264 yards, and a touchdown. I expect this game to be a shootout, and Shakir will likely benefit.

Jared Goff, QB: The Bills’ pass defense has been solid, ranking 9th against the pass this season. But, as I said before, they allow a lot of separation, something Goff and the receivers will enjoy. However, the reason I say to start Goff is due to the Bills inability to get to the quarterback. They rank 22nd in sacks, 21st in sack rate, 21st in pressures, 19th in pressure rate, and 30th in blitz rate. As we all know, Goff is at his best when he’s untouched. I think the offensive line will keep him upright, which will likely make it a big day for Goff.

SIT:

There aren’t many players to sit this week.

James Cook, RB: The Lions’ run defense ranks 5th in the NFL currently, and I expect them to keep it up against Cook. However, I don’t think he will be shut down by any means. The Lions only allow 15PPG to running backs on average, but Cook is generally a productive player. The Lions are getting much healthier up front, getting 4 defensive linemen back. I would say Cook likely gets more fantasy points through the air this week. I’d only bench Cook if you have a clear better option.

Dalton Kincaid, TE: The Lions’ defense ranks 1st in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to tight ends, and with Kincaid being questionable going in, I don’t expect the Bills to make him a focal point of the offense this week. He has already had a shaky season coming in.

With that being said, good luck in your playoff games. I hope we all win this week!
